1. Question: When I get to the airport to pick up my new
puppy what should I expect?
Answer: Your puppy will arrive in a new travel crate that you will be able
to use for months to come. There is no reason to purchase a larger one until
he/she outgrows this one. You do not want them to have a crate (kennel)
that is too large. The right size kennel is essential so the puppy will feel safe
and secure and not have the room to relieve themselves and sleep on the
other available space until they are fully kennel trained although they are
pretty much kennel trained when you receive them at 8 weeks old. Your AKC
registration papers, small zip-lock bag of food, health records, and health
certificate will be attached to the kennel. You may want to bring some 409
cleaner and paper towels in case your puppy has an accident during the
long trip.
2. Question: What should I feed my new puppy?
Answer: When we arrange to send your new puppy we will notify you the
exact food your puppy is currently eating. You must purchase this exact kind
of food until your puppy is settled in for a couple of weeks. SLOWLY start
adding small amounts of the new puppy food of your choice over a period of
two weeks until they are fully changed over.
3. Question: When should I get the puppies ears cropped?
Answer: We recommend getting the ears cropped between 10 and 13
weeks old. Some Vets have different opinions so follow your Vets advise.
The older they are when the ears are cropped the harder they are to get to
stand.
